Dampness in a property looks unsightly and can be a health risk. It should be treated with urgency.
The most common form of damp can be caused by poor heating and ventilation and can occur when you are cooking which can raise the humidity level. This humid air condenses on cold surfaces, such as windows and walls, causing dampness.
If left untreated, damp can pose a number of risks including structural decay in timber, damaging plaster and corrosion. Not just looking unsightly, it can even affect people’s health and can be especially dangerous for anyone with asthma and respiratory problems.
